Blythewood is a super stylish luxury architect-designed house, sleeping up to ten in five bedrooms with sumptuous interiors throughout. A hot tub, heated outdoor BBQ and dining area and separate games room complete the amenities. Located in rural Aberdeenshire in the village of Kemnay, this five-star, dog-friendly accommodation is ideal for special family gatherings or groups of friends holidaying together. It offers electric vehicle charging facilities and plenty of parking space.

Large Luxury House with Hot Tub

Wow, just wow!  Blythewood has been recently upgraded and extended to offer exceptional accommodation in five stunning bedrooms. Its still retains the charm and character of the original house with a number of period features, but the décor, furniture and fittings have all been artfully updated, and it is now a sophisticated and uber stylish luxury holiday house, with state-of-the-art facilities. It makes an ideal location for a special escape or entertaining friends for a few days.

Ideal For Special Family Gatherings

On entering the house through the wood panelled entrance hall – plenty of hanging space for coats – you will find a large period living room full of character and featuring stunning wall panelling and traditional detailing. With large sofas and a wood burning stove, it’s the place to relax with a good book and a dram in hand, or to enjoy a film on the large smart TV with streaming services such as Netflix and Prime etc.

The highlight of the house, however, is the fabulous open-plan kitchen with dining and living areas overlooking the private garden. This purpose-built extension has wonderfully light interiors with huge windows and skylights, creating a magnificent modern living space.

The catering facilities are top notch, with everything you need for cooking up a feast. The contemporary kitchen is well-equipped with a double oven and microwave, induction hob and dishwasher, fridge and freezer.

The stylish wooden dining table seats up to ten guests with high end crockery and cutlery. There’s a brilliant coffee machine and innovative Quooker boiling water tap, so no need to wait for the kettle to boil!

Contemporary and Chic Log Burner

The good-sized open-plan living area with underfloor heating features a huge squashy sofa and massive smart TV, with the usual steaming services. A contemporary and chic log burner complete the cosy feel.

One of the quirky highlights of Blythewood is the kitchen-adjoining bar area, with its fun jungle themed wallpaper and comfortable tables and chairs, and a drinks cabinet full of recipes and tools for making your favourite cocktails – just the place for pre-dinner drinks, enjoying your own pub quiz or playing board games.

Generous Welcome Pack of Goodies

We loved the very generous welcome pack of goodies, as well as fresh bread and milk. The dog treats were a welcome bonus. It’s unusual for such a high-end holiday house to welcome dogs, but Blythewood does it in style, provided your K9 pals stay off the beds and sofas.

The fab master bedroom is located on the ground floor, with super-king-size bed offering maximum flexibility as it can be split into two single beds. This large, delightful bedroom has a bay window overlooking the front garden. The en-suite shower room features a large walk-in shower and luxurious rainfall shower head, sink and toilet.

Next door, just along the hall, is the cute and cosy bunk room, which can sleep two people in full-size single bunks. Quirky décor and fun touches make this room ideal for kids.

There’s another toilet and sink on the ground floor, again with amazing wallpaper and lighting.

As you move up the gorgeous staircase, you’ll find stylish artworks and three further comfortable bedrooms, all featuring super-king-size beds, and high-quality linens. All the super-king-size beds can be split into two single beds if required.

Bedroom two has its own luxurious en-suite bathroom, with toilet, sink, large walk-in shower and fantastic free-standing bathtub. Bedrooms three and four continue the high-end quality sleeping experience. There’s also good-sized family shower room on the first floor, with toilet, sink and large walk-in shower. The house also offers a small office room if you need to slip away to check a few emails.

A Real Treat Offering A Five-Star Experience

Staying at Blythewood is a real treat. The five-star experience comes with fluffy bath towels, soft robes and luxurious toiletries from Fine Scottish Soaps. The bathrooms have top of the range facilities, brilliant showers and lovely soaps. The beds are super comfy and, like the rest of the house, the bedroom interiors are first class.

The house is not only stylish but very practical. The downstairs utility room has a washing machine, tumble dryer and sink, ideal if you are staying for the week. There’s an outside washing line too. For outdoor enthusiasts, there’s a storage room for bikes or skis, along with a WC with toilet and sink.

Private Garden and Beautifully Lit Hot Tub Area

Large Luxury House with Hot tub! The private garden is superb. The owners seem to have thought of everything is this carefully designed space. You can enjoy an evening in the covered, heated and beautifully lit hot tub area. In the summer months you can take advantage of the covered outdoor dining area with large BBQ for cooking up a storm! The garden seating area offers outdoor sofas and armchairs for relaxing. All in all, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine or a beer. The firepit comes into its own in the evenings as a focal point for gatherings.

The garden is also the location of the games room, complete with dartboard, pool table and bar area. There’s is also a multi-gym, which you can take advantage of during your stay.

Blythewood is located in the attractive Aberdeenshire town of Kemnay, with local distilleries, historic castles, and family-friendly attractions just a short trip from the house. The village has good facilities, with a butcher and traditional baker opposite the house and a small supermarket around the corner.

Blythewood is an exceptional luxury holiday house. Sleeping ten in style, this is fantastic five-star accommodation to enjoy with friends and family. While it’s big enough to accommodate a large family group or gathering, it would be the perfect place for an adult holiday with groups of friends. It’s a great base for a holiday exploring the best of Royal Deeside and rural Aberdeenshire.

Perfect Days

There’s a wealth of local attractions to discover in this wonderful part of Scotland. Of course, The City of Aberdeen is only 35 mins away with all its attractions.

Explore the Castle trail. Some of the best castles in Scotland are in Aberdeenshire. Some of our favorites include; Castle Fraser, just up the road, Fyvie Castle and the iconic Crathes Castle. Balmoral Castle the royal favorite is about 45 miles away.

Discover whisky country, explore some of the famous Speyside distilleries, there are over 30 distilleries in the area. Theres also a cracking whisky shop in Inverurie with a superb selection of malts available.

Buy some local food from the butcher and enjoy a BBQ in the private garden area 

Go for a local walk: The house is overlooked by the famous Bennachie, a wonderful hillwalk. A shorter walk is Scolty Hill which includes a delightful woodland walk. The nearest Munro for baggers is the popular Mount Keen.

Enjoy some fishing. There’s some fabulous local fishing available. Try the River Don at Kemney or trout fishing at the ponds of Lochter Activity Centre Oldmeldrum or on the Glen Tanar Estate in Aboyne.

Sample some local golf. Aberdeenshire is a golfer’s paradise with some fantastic courses. Some nearby pay as go courses include; Kemnay Golf Club, Inverurie Golf Club and Oldmeldrum Golf Club.                                                                                                                                                                                               

In winter, for skiers and boarders the slopes of The Lecht are only 26 miles drive away or you could head over to Glenshee for snowsports (approx. 50 miles drive).
